Though various trigger groups are used by police agencies, this weapon typically has three settings, semiautomatic fire (1 shot), burst (3 shot), and fully automatic fire. If a player is using the weapon in burst mode, all short bursts will fire 3 rounds. |
The MP5 is commonly considered the best submachine gun in the world, and since its creation in the 1960's, has grown to become popular with countries all over the world. First adopted by the West German security forces as the Machine Pistol 5, this weapon, with over 20 variants, has made its way into numerous western nations for use in military and police forces. Currently, the MP5 is employed by a number of US government organizations, including the Secret Service, FBI, DEA, ATF, (MP5s used by most of these agencies are configured for 2 or 3 shot bursts instead of full auto. This can be changed through modifications.) and branches of the military. Its high rate of fire and small size makes it perfect for Close Quarter Battle, (CQB) environments. Because of this, it has become the weapon of choice for SWAT teams and special operations groups like the SAS and Navy SEALS, (among dozens of others). Many variants of this submachinegun have been produced, with different fire modes, and retractable and fixed stocks. 10 mm and .40 S&W versions of this weapon are also available.
