The AKS-74U is a compact variant of the AK-74, featuring a shorter barrel, lower velocity, and higher rate of fire. It was designed in 1979 for use with Russian special military units and personnel in need of compact firepower, as well as special law enforcement teams. It is capable of being fitted with the BS-1 grenade launcher and PBS silencer. This weapon will primarily be found in Eastern Europe, but many have found their way around the world.
